For travel or activities which take you away from reliable medical facilities, your medical kit needs to contain items to cover most day to day travel health ailments. Make a risk assessment of what you think you need. Ensure you include: rehydration sachets, non adherent dressings, micropore tape or zinc oxide tape, pain killers, insect bite treatment, antihistimanes, plenty of first aid items such as plasters and medication to treat an upset stomach, travel sickness if you suffer from it and a sterile kit. For travel to high risk malaria zones you will need to include antimalarials.
Don't forget to take a supply of any prescribed mediation you are already taking, at least enough to cover your trip. If you use up any of your supplies, keep the original packaging as this will help you to re-stock while abroad.
Nomad's Travel Health Pharmacy has been providing customised group, expedition and individual solutions for medical kit requirements since 1990. If none of the kits below quite fit your bill, contact the pharmacy for a free estimate for a bespoke medical kit for your trip.
