Using the Nomad clinic services gives you a one-to-one experience with a qualified, highly trained, travel health nurse.

The consultation includes:

  • A detailed medical history
  • Risk assessment based on style and length of your trip
  • Advice on preventative measures you can take

Your pharmacy based travel clinic is all very well but for specialist advice at the same or lower cost come to Nomad. This is strongly advised if you are on a more adventurous or complex itinerary, or have special medical needs. Nomad Travel Clinics are specialists in:

  • Last minute travel
  • Complex itineraries
  • Travel health and existing medical conditions
  • Open 6 days per week

allowing 6-8 weeks for your vaccination programme, you have time to fit in full courses of vaccines where required which provides you with the best possible protection against certain vaccine preventable diseases. If you don’t have time to complete courses before you go, you risk travelling with little or even no protection against sometimes high risk diseases.

A gift given to Jack, from Nomad's customer service team, proved to be a hugely valuable and much used piece of kit on his 10 month trip to South America.

Before going to South America for 10 months I was given a Multitool to take with me. At first I was dubious on how often it would be used but it soon proved to be an invaluable tool. I found myself using it for a range of things. The pliers for example were used to change a tyre on my friends bicycle after he got a puncture up in the Peruvian Andes.

The tool was also useful for less demanding tasks like cutting food and opening bottles, but it was most useful whilst I was in Sao Paulo. There I was involved in building a playground from scratch alongside a favela. The tool was passed around to cut wire, saw and screw bolts.

I found it really well designed, and it feels solid in the hand. I also love that every single attachment locks. Here's a list of what's included:

Just don't be a fool like me and leave it in your hand luggage. I was devastated when it was taken out of my bag near the end of my trip and placed in the "sharp objects" box, never to be seen again...

  • Serrated Knife
  • Needlenose Pliers
  • Regular Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Hard-Wire Cutters
  • Saw
  • Scissors
  • Wood/Metal File
  • Diamond Coated File
  • Large Bit Driver
  • Large Screwdriver
  • Small Bit Driver
  • Ruler
  • Bottle/Can Opener
  • Wire Stripper
  • Lanyard Attachment
  • Clip-Point Knife
  • 2 Double End Bits

(For wine drinkers, note there's bottle opener!)

Considering what they are capable of, I think they're great value and has a 25 year warranty for peace of mind. Just don't be a fool like me and leave it in your hand luggage. I was devastated when it was taken out of my bag near the end of my trip and placed in the "sharp objects" box, never to be seen again...
