Bristol Nomad Manager thoughts on Christmas this year:
It's all go here at the moment kitting out school trips to places like the Atlas Mountains and charity treks going up to Kilimanjaro in Kenya. It's great to see the store and the Travel Health Clinics working at full steam. And just in case we might have some spare minutes, all the new season North Face and Berghaus has just landed. There's some great stuff for you to come and try.

Our best sellers at the moment are the trusty Bugproof 50% DEET and the Bugproof Combo Single Mosquito Net, both essential for travel to the tropics. The teams' favourites are our very own H2O No Water Handwash, the very versatile Metal Spoon, Healthy Back Bags and the Opsrey Kestrel packs. Come in for a FREE rucksack fitting any time!

The biggest news of all is our very own Harry has started a weekly Bushcraft column in the Bristol Evening Post! We are planning a special Bushcraft evening in store in the next month or so - be sure to check out Harry's column regularly for the date! As part of his Bushcraft activity, Harry has been searching for birch bark sap in the woods.

I've been snowboarding in Canada and the Alps - great snow this year and the Julbo Ski Glasses came into their own. James has been exploring the mountain biking trails in Leigh Woods and Ashton Court - Check out the Bristol Mountain Bike Club Wesbite for events in the area. Sunny has been Bivying in the Forest of Dean - all exciting stuff!

I would like to introduce you to our newest team member, Elliot, who is currently studying at UWE and travelling whenever he can. Last year he went trekking in India and Nepal. To celebrate his 21st he's trekking in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

We've been holding regular 'kit' evenings in store and at local schools and youth groups. Often we're helping them prepare for their first ever long haul trip. It's been great fun to be part of it and the clinics have been a godsend for their medical advice. We also took part in a travel themed radio show on Bristol Community Radio and are currently working hard to get involved with local scouting and ten tors activities!

Bristol Product of Month:
Mark's (Bristol Store Manager) favourite product this month is the Garmin Oregon 300 GPS with the National Parks Bundle. He says "the Ordnance Survey mapping of the British National Parks is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors – and believe me, I love my gadgets."

"When you’re not out in the hills, the Oregon doubles as an in-car sat nav, so now not only should I not get lost in the fog, but I don’t need to get stressed trying to find the car park on the way to the start points!"
