The original Nomad Travel Store opened here in 1990. We house a clothing and equipment store, as well as a clinic for vaccinations, anti-malarials, prescription only medicines and specialised medical kits
How to find us: we are just a few steps away from Turnpike Lane underground station on the Piccadilly Line. From the main station entrance, head diagonally across the intersection towards Costa Coffee and you’ll find us a few doors down Turnpike Lane on the right hand side.

Turnpike Lane Store News:
We are all geared up for the colder weather that seems to be creeping up on us at the moment. With new season Jackets, Hats and Gloves, this is the place to visit if you want to avoid getting cold this winter.
If you are planning on a winter break this year our staff are all here to help so feel free to drop in and take advantage of our walk-in travel clinic or give us a call if you would like to book an appointment.
Our staff are also on hand to advise on any of the products we have in store, whether you need a new backpack fitted or help choosing the right pair of shoes for your trip we are all here to help.
Meet the Nomad Team:
Mel is Store Manager; she has travelled extensively including spending about 6 months in India and Nepal and over a month exploring the beaches of Mexico. She is therefore full of great advice on what to take on your trip. Whether it’s a round the world yearlong backpacking adventure or a couple of weeks exploring Europe, Mel is full of hints to help make the most of your experience.
Joining our team as Assistant Manager is Andy. He has spent time travelling in Africa and, growing up by the moors in North Yorkshire means he has spent a lot of time exploring the great outdoors! In Africa he spent time working with a charity getting to meet and help local people in remote villages. He also backpacked throughout Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, where he went white water rafting down the Nile and saw a few of the Big Five whilst on Safari!
Our supervisor Raif loves to travel. Having been to India and South East Asia he then went to Australia on a work visa. Picking fruit funded his travels along the Great Ocean Road from Perth to Sydney. If you are planning on visiting that part of the world then Raif is full of great advice and can highlight any must haves for your trip. He is currently away in Cyprus but will be back soon full of stories about the adventures he has been up to.
Tim another of our supervisors has just got back from Egypt where he spent some time diving in the Red Sea. Tim is often out and about giving talks to various groups setting off all over the world. If you are planning a group trip and need advice on equipment send us an email for more details. Tim recently tested all the latest cold weather gear in Scotland!
Felicity is our new Clinic Assistant; she recently spent time backpacking in South America where she visited Iguazu Falls and took in the carnival atmosphere of Rio! She also had the chance to go horse riding through some of the amazing landscapes of Paraguay. She is here to help with any clinic queries you may have and is full of great advice for bite avoidance and Medical Kits!
One of our Sales Assistants, Thea, has a passion for trekking. Spending time in Mongolia started her love of mountains and her trip to East Africa included a climb to the top of a live volcano. Her love of photography has led her around the world visiting many different countries so she is full of useful information to help you plan your trip.
Steph, another of our sales assistants, climbed the highest Mountain in England when she was four years old and she has loved the outdoors ever since. From Glacier walking in Iceland to hill walking in Europe, she is full of hints and tips on how to enjoy a colder climate. She also recently got back from the South of France where she enjoyed some visits to the local vineyards. She also climbed Mont Olympe exploring a few ancient castles along the way.
