Team News:Angela has recently joined the Nomad Turnpike Lane team as Assistant Manager with plenty of travel and outdoors experience under her belt. She’s been hiking and camping as long as she can remember and is well placed to advise you on the best gear for short or long-distance walking in the UK or further afield. Travels abroad have taken Angela as far north as Svalbard, deep inside the Arctic Circle, and as far south as the Cape of Good Hope. Some of the highlights in between have been trekking in Peru, sailing off the Mozambique coast and conquering Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, California.
Having just recovered from running the London Marathon in a very respectable time of 4 hours 39 minutes, Tim is now training to tackle Africa’s highest mountain (Kilimanjaro), all in aid of the charity, Scope. Coupling this with his recent kit talks for Trekforce and Raleigh, he is very well prepared to talk you through our kit lists.
Jessie is new to our team having recently returned from a trekking trip on the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, so is well equipped to give you advice on all your travel needs. She is also an avid festival goer and is full of hints and tips to make your festival experience one to remember.
This year Simon, one of our Travel Clinic nurses, made a New Year’s resolution to explore a new European city each month. So far, so good: over the winter months he has been concentrating on Scandinavia and his most recent trip was to Iceland. After a few days taking in the stunning landscape and experiencing the legendary Reykjavik nightlife, Simon even managed to dodge the volcanic ash to make it back to Turnpike Lane.
