How to Use the Medicines in the Kit?
Clarithromycin 250mg Tablets – Oral Antibiotic
Clarithromycin is a non-penicillin-based antibiotic that can be used to treat diagnosed skin infections and soft tissue infections of mild to moderate severity, such as folliculitis, cellulitis and erysipelas and infections of the upper respiratory tract such as tonsillitis/pharyngitis as well as infection of the middle ear.
Dose: Take one tablet twice a day for 7 days.
Side Effects: This medicine may cause nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhoea and taste perversion.
Notes: Swallow tablets whole with sufficient fluid.
Azithromycin Tablets– Oral Antibiotic
This is an antibiotic that is very effective against most causes of Travellers’ Diarrhoea and should greatly reduce both its severity and duration.
Dose: Take ONE tablet once a day for 3 days as required with one or two Loperamide capsules (see below).
Side Effects: Most commonly diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence
Notes: Medical help should be sought if there has been no improvement in symptoms after 72 hours, if fever is present or blood/mucus is present in the stools.

Loperamide Capsules
This is a ‘blocker’ for the management of diarrhoea. It will not treat diarrhoea but will help slow it down.
Dosage: Take two at tablets together to begin, then one as required to a maximum of 6 in 24 hours.
Notes: Never exceed the recommended dose and ensure you drink plenty of fluids. Do not use if blood present in stools. Read the Nomad ‘Diarrhoea Self Treatment Advice sheet’ for further direction.
Paracetamol Tablets
Painkiller and antipyretic (reduce temperature).
Dosage: Take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours up to a max of 4 times a day and a daily max of 8 tablets.
Notes: Do not exceed the stated dose. Be aware that other medicines may also contain Paracetamol.
Ibuprofen Tablets
Painkiller, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory. Effective in muscular, joint pains, back and period pain.
Dose: Take 1 or 2 tablets every 6 to 8 hours up to a maximum of 3 times a day.
Notes: This medication may cause gastric irritation. Always take after food. Not suitable for people with a history of peptic ulceration. Not for use by asthmatics unless known tolerance of the product.
Rehydration Sachets
Restores natural salt and fluid balance in cases of diarrhoea and dehydration.
Dose: Make up one sachet with 200ml of drinking water and drink slowly after each loose stool.
Chlorphenamine Tablets
Antihistamine for allergic reactions due to insect bites, allergy rashes and hay fever.
Dose: One tablet three times a day as needed. May cause drowsiness.
Under 18?
Online medication requests are available to patients aged 18 and over. Anyone under 18 will need to attend a clinic appointment accompanied by a parent or guardian, where their suitability for medication will be assessed by a clinician.
Returns, Damage & Faulty Products
Any issues relating to returns, damage, or faulty products are dealt with on a case-by-case basis, to ensure a fair and consistent outcome.
Reporting Procedure

- The email must include:
- Order number
- A description of the issue
- Photographic evidence where applicable
- The distributor will then provide the next steps, depending on the nature of the case.
Delivery Timelines
Please allow up to 5–7 working days for your order to be processed. This covers the online risk assessment review, the prescription stage, and dispensing and dispatch by the supplier.
Standard Delivery
Orders are sent out using a Tracked 48-hour courier service.
Tracking Information
Tracking details will be issued by the third-party courier, provided that:
- A valid mobile number and/or
- A valid email address has been supplied at the time of order.
Delivery Guarantees
- Delivery times via third-party couriers cannot be guaranteed.
- As a result, the distributor is not liable for any delays caused by the courier service.
Missing Deliveries
If a delivery hasn’t arrived within a reasonable timeframe:
- The customer should contact MASTA at enquiries@masta.org, providing their order details.
- MASTA will then open an investigation and, where necessary, arrange for the missing goods to be resupplied.
Distributor Liability
The distributor is not responsible for:
- Delays caused by the courier
- Failed delivery attempts
